School districts across Illinois have received a “toolbox” of recommendations for helping teachers and students rebound from lost learning after a year of interruptions during the COVID 19 pandemic.
The P-20 Council’s Learning Renewal Resource Guide includes ideas such as lengthening the school day and academic year, ways to increase pre-K and kindergarten enrollment, and increasing year-round staffing.
The guidance was unveiled by state officials along with a boost of $7 billion in federal stimulus funding from the American Rescue Plan Act approved by Congress, which they said would be sent directly to school districts across the state.
