Registration of new organizational applicants is due one week prior, by September 6, 2023. Visit our How to Apply page for more information on the deadlines and application process. The Joyce Awards is the only regional program dedicated to supporting new commissions by artists of color working with organizations in major Great Lakes cities. The 2024 award amount has increased to $100,000 each with $30,000 required to go directly to the commissioned artist(s) as a stipend. Aligning with the 20th anniversary of the Joyce Awards, the increased award supports an artist and commissioning organization in the creation and production of a new work developed in collaboration with communities in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and/or Minneapolis-St. Paul.

About The Joyce Foundation

Joyce is a nonpartisan, private foundation that invests in evidence-informed public policies and strategies to advance racial equity and economic mobility for the next generation in the Great Lakes region.
