Optimizing Crime Gun Intelligence

Share

Crime gun intelligence tools have been identified to help law enforcement disrupt the supply of crime guns, identify and apprehend offenders, and prevent future acts of gun violence when properly implemented. Tools like eTrace and NIBIN have increased clearance rates for gun crimes ranging from homicide to aggravated assault in cities like Milwaukee. However, the Optimizing Crime Gun Intelligence report finds significant gaps in providing resources, participation, and utilization of these tools at the federal, state, and local levels.

During this webinar, the report's authors discuss the current crime gun intelligence landscape and key findings from the report. They also discuss possible ways to strengthen the use and adoption of these tools in a fair and just way.
